The Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, in partnership with the Tides Center, is hiring a Community Director to support the Consortium by assisting universities around the country with cybersecurity workforce development and protecting vulnerable organizations from cyberattacks.
The Community Director is a full-time role reporting to Tides’ Managing Advisor for Strategic Initiatives and working in close alignment with the Executive Committee of the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, currently co-chaired by University of California, Berkeley and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This position is a leadership role responsible for collaboratively developing strategic priorities for the Consortium. The Community Director will grow programming to support the success of the Google Cybersecurity Clinics Fund-recommended grants recipients and other new members. This role will coordinate with a highly matrixed team working across several organizations, that may include Tides, Google, and Consortium members, to achieve shared goals.
The Community Director will lead initiatives to support academic members of the Consortium develop and strengthen their cybersecurity clinic programs and provide leadership, and structure for the long-term effectiveness of the Consortium.
We are seeking candidates that are highly collaborative, with experience building consensus among a variety of stakeholders. Candidates should have some applied knowledge of cybersecurity concepts through policy, journalism, consulting, or other work in t Candidates should be able to work with the Executive Committee to create a vision for the Consortium network and execute upon it over time.
This is a grant-funded position with an anticipated start date on or around September 1, 2023. This role is currently funded through July 2026. Opportunities for employment beyond this period will be subject to available funding and program needs.
